💡 Gator-RC Modeler’s Tip: Golden Age Ground Handling

The P-26A's iconic wheel pants are essential for its scale look but require care during ground operations. For pilots flying from grass, we recommend keeping the grass short and ensuring the wheels spin freely inside the pants to prevent "nose-overs." On takeoff, use a gradual throttle application and keep the tail planted with up-elevator until you gain sufficient airspeed. This ensures the 71" airframe tracks straight and protects the fiberglass wheel pants from unnecessary stress.
